Littledean Gaol.

Littledean Gaol - The House of Correction, is one of Sir George Onesipherus Paul's four identical gaols built in the county in 1791 and the best preserved one. Designed by the celebrated London architect William Blackburn, great care was taken with the design of the lay-out and in the detail of the fittings. In particular such items as the iron adjustable louvres, cell signalling-flaps and the centre pivoted doors are remarkable for their suitability in maintaining security and their advanced modern thinking.
