A British Tactical Victory which enabled the evacuation of Spain.
Polish lancers fghting for the French fought against the Spanish, burst through their lines but lose their banners.
After a 7 months struggle and many losses the French finally took Gerona - but the delays and losses were too high a price.
A Strategic French victory and a Tactical one for the British.
The siege lasted for two and a half years without the French taking the city & it was, thus, a somewhat delayed Allied victory.
The French successfully escaped the blockade !
The Siege of San Sebastián was actually two sieges - the first resulted in a French victory but the second was an Anglo-Portuguese victory which was marked by the victorious troops, including some of their officers, looting and destroying the town. This undisciplined pillaging lasted for about a week.
An unclear result as both the French and the British claimed to be victorious.
